99% Of Your Prospects Are Lying

Before we start to jump into the meat of this writing, I have to admit that I did not come up with this topic on my own.  Mr. Ray Hidgon, recruiting and professional rockstar, had touched on this point in one of his posts, and I decided to run with it.

At any rate, it has to deal with how 99% of those that you talk to about your MLM business will blatantly lie to you when the issue about start up costs comes up.  Yup, that’s right.  They will lie to your face saying that they just don’t have the money right now.  And you know how I am absolutely sure about this statement?  Just follow along with the example below.

Advanced MLM Prospecting Techniques (Part 1)

About a week ago, I wrote about the basics of MLM prospecting.  By no means was it all encompassing about how to prospect, and with this piece or any to follow, it will not extend your knowledge to have the end all, be all route to prospecting wisdom.  However, it will be ONE source that you can use to get you going in your conversations with a prospect.

MLM Prospecting Basics

When you are about to start calling your prospects, you need to be prepared.  And if you are cringing at the thought of calling people that came across your desk in one form or another….well you just need to get over it.  Plain and simple.

Naw, I’m not going to be that mean, but you really do need to learn how to get over that fear of the phone.  It is the core of what being a network marketer is about.   If you are able to talk and socialize with others at your current place of employment, then you can EASILY talk to others that ASK for you to call them back.

What To Spend Your Time On

But I don’t wanna!  I know, I know.  But you have to.  Have to what?  Well, you have to put in tons of work to be successful in Network Marketing, but specifically at what?   If you ask 10 different MLMers, you will get 10 different answers.  However, I just don’t take my advice from anyone….I study and follow the experts.  And if you ask them, they will say that top three things are as follows in this particular order…

#1. Prospecting.  #2. Prospecting.  #3 prospecting.  Yup, that’s it.  And for a fourth thing, prospecting.

Sorry to break the news to you, but this is what your business, our industry, is all about.  It is about connecting and networking with other people and providing them value through your products, services, or teachings.  That’s it.  It really is that simple, but so many people get freakin’ bogged down with all the other little stuff, such as lead generation, having a fancy website, or waiting until they have perfected how to talk with others.  Screw that stuff!
