They say that it’s a statistical fact that your income is directly proportional to your 10 closest friends/people in your life. I mean it makes sense if you think about it. Do janitors go out for drinks with CEO’s of multimillion dollar corporations? We all know the answer is no. (But you can never say never:)).
So if you have aspirations of making more income than you currently make and you aren’t trying to physically get around the people that do, then you are wrong.
Look, I’m not saying it’s easy, and you don’t have to do it tomorrow. But you can’t just call them up on the phone and set up a dinner date. You have to take baby steps to get there.
I was extremely fortunate to have spent a weekend this past July masterminding in Los Angeles, CA with a few of the leaders (who happen to be millionaires) in our industry. It was hands down one of the best weekends of my life, and I will never forget it.
But you know what the really awesome part was? Seeing these people as real people.
Yes, each of them is an icon in their own right, but they are made of the same flesh and blood as you and me.
They weren’t always millionaires. Many have come from pretty crappy backgrounds. And a few have not.
Regardless, they have made it, and there is a reason for it. I highly suggest learning from these people. For instance, from the weekend I mentioned above, I was able to socialize with names like Tim Erway, Raymond Fong, Ferny Ceballos, and Ryan Angelo. Staying up until the wee hours of the morning, bouncing marketing ideas of these guys, and hearing their past troubles, in person, was a freakin’ dream come true.
These dudes are cool.
And I didn’t make it to this point overnight. It took me 5 years in constantly trying to learn from them and ping them with questions. I bought their courses, participated in their forums, and paid for masterminding sessions. Once the chance opened up to be able to hang out with them for an entire weekend, it was a gift. I jumped at it, and my businesses have gone to new heights over the past 6 months.
I simply encourage you to better yourself each day. Learn from those that have done it. Get around those that you enjoy the most. If you attempt to get around these folks, your income will rise as a result.
Until next time…
