The Greatest Baseball Game I Have Ever Seen | Dr. Timothy Lawler

The Greatest Baseball Game I Have Ever Seen

For those of you that don’t know this, I am from St. Louis, MO, and I am a diehard Cardinals baseball fan.  If you have any interest in baseball whatsoever, you were probably watching game 6 of the 2011 World Series as I was tonight.  And holy crap, it was hands down the best game of baseball that I have ever seen.  Period.

Some of you may disagree, but it was unbelievable.  The Cards were down to their last strike on two different occasions, which would have left them defeated.  But no.  They didn’t let it happen.  Base hits kept them in the game.  After battling back twice from being 2 runs down, they came back to tie.  Then, the rockstar of the night, David Freese, hits a center field walk-of homerun in the bottom of the 11th to win the game, forcing a game 7.

You have to understand what has happened over this past month.  At the beginning of September, there wasn’t a chance in hell that the Cards could make the playoffs.  As it came down to the wire and with a little luck, they limped in as the wild card.  From there, they are about to enter into the final possible game of the best playoffs of any sport.  I don’t even care what happens tomorrow.  This series has been sensational. (Side note, I guess I care a little:)).

With this euphoric feeling, I have to make the comparison to my own businesses.  For the past 5 years, I have felt down and out.  There wasn’t a chance in hell I was making it big in the home business industry.  Then 6 months ago, I took a leap of faith to get around some of the biggest gurus in the industry today.   The connections I made at that event got me into the wild card spot at the playoffs.  Since then, I haven’t quite made it to the World Series, but I am well on my way.  You just can’t ever give up in this industry.  Ever.

And the second you, you instantly become another statistic.  Don’t do that.  Constantly strive to be a rockstar.  Constantly strive to be the next David Freese.

Until next time…

Dr. Timothy Lawler
