If you have read any of my past posts, you know that I really enjoy SEO marketing. It does take a bit more work than some other avenues of online marketing, such as PPC or PPV, but it’s essentially free. The problem though, is that it does take time, and most people during this day and age aren’t willing to wait. What I’m specifically talking about here is blogging, and as you can gather from my section on “SEO”, Google and the other search engines absolutely love blogs.
However, the other seemingly huge issue with using a blog to market yourself is trying to come up with regular content. When it comes down to it, you should be blogging once per day. At the bare minimum, you need to write AT LEAST three times per week. This will ensure that the Google bots crawl your site on a regular basis. I know that it can be pretty darn tough to have the discipline to write every day, but it’s also hard to come up with good stuff to write about. I’m here today to let you know that it’s not as hard as you think. Below are 3 ways to come up with daily content to use in your blogging marketing efforts.
1. Brainstorming Flow
You probably have heard about this technique when you were in grade school. Just have a steady stream of consciousness, and make sure your fingers don’t stop typing for 10 minutes. Even though it seems childish, it works like a charm. Each time I do this, I usually get about 5 pages of topics. This technique alone will give you MONTHS worth of writing. I suggest trying to do this at least once per month.
2. Answer Your Own Questions
You didn’t get to where you are today by knowing everything from the start. You had a ton of questions, and in some way, shape, or form, you found the answers to those questions. Guess what, you should write about how you found those answers. In our business, there are constantly new people starting every single day, and I guarantee that they have the same questions that you did. Answer each one with a different post, and others will flock to you in no time.
3. Tell What’s On Your Mind
Everyone loves a good story. Good marketing is based off some type of story. Stories stir up emotion, and emotions are what sell. No matter how boring you think your story is…you need to tell it. Hell, you need to tell many of them. If something happens in your life, please share it with the world. Chances are that you will have someone that will relate with you. That’s what blogging is all about.
I know that these are simple suggestions, but they will make the difference in your business. Again, if you can make a post per day, you will start to get more traffic than you could ever imagine. I would love to know about any other blogging suggestions that you have so please make sure to leave a comment below.
Until next time…
